Christmas Home Learning

MathleticsWe have set a range of activities for home learning for you to complete. Please spend time completing these and working on any other areas in Mathletics where you feel you need more practise.

Spellodrome

Please continue to use spellodrome to practise the spelling patterns we have set.

Seesaw

We have included each class QR code to access Seasaw from home. Please use this to start to upload and collect photos of places you visit during the Christmas holidays. You will be using these photos to make a past tense presentation in Welsh in the new year.

You could also use Seesaw to upload examples of independent learning in the future, using free apps such as Morfo, Adobe voice, Skitch and other ‘Lite’ versions of paid apps. You will need to download the Seesaw ‘Class’ app.

If you would prefer to bring in photos that are printed out then that is also fine.

We do not need home learning books back into school until after the Christmas break. Have a super Christmas time – thank you for all your hard work this term!

When I entered the room JFM 100wc

When I entered the room I turned  around there was a kitten , sweet, cute, adorable the kitten ran up to me . My face sprang with joy. I was , so amazed I turned around to get some milk then I walked back in to the room. I turned around it changed shape it was no longer a kitten it was now  a unicorn with a rainbow coming from its bottom. Majestic, beautiful it flew round the room like a bird. I turned round one more time it then became a dragon. Oh no I should of just stuck with the pretty unicorn!

100 WC

This week we are going to try the 100 WC. The prompt for this week is below, and you must include it somewhere in your writing.

…as I turned round it changed shape …

Things to think about:

What is ‘it’?
What shape should it be?
What shape did it turn into?
Why was this happening?

Hwb

It is great to see so many of you accessing Hwb from home – dysgu da! We have really enjoyed reading your book reviews and creative independent learning – thank you!

Maths learning

This week we have been converting decimals into fractions; finding equivalent fractions and finding fractions of amounts. We are currently using Mathletics to complete some assessments in school, so we won’t be setting any new challenges for home learning until next week – remember to check! (if computer access is a problem at home then ‘Mathletics Club’ will be running next Thursday break time as usual).

‘Super Seven’ Spelling

This week has been our Welsh Guided Reading week, so we are sending home some Welsh words and phrases for you to practise at home.

We have also updated the Spellodrome word lists for you to access.

Solar system reading response activity

In our Science this week we have been learning about the Earth, the Sun, the Moon and how shadows are made. We are sending home a related reading response activity. PLEASE DON’T STICK THIS IN HOME LEARNING BOOKS AS IT WILL BE STUCK IN SCIENCE BOOKS.

Strictly Panto

‘Super Seven’ Spelling

This week’s focus is ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ and ‘which’ and ‘witch’ and your child will be bringing their ‘Super Seven’ words home as usual to practise at home.  Your child will need to access Spellodrome to focus on a range of spelling patterns appropriate to their year group.

Maths learning

Please find enclosed some test-type questions for your child to practise at home. Remember to show your methods and working out. This week we have been consolidating a range of times tables. Please continue to work on these at home, and ensure your child can find related number facts (If I know that 6 x 3 = 18, I also know…).

Padlet

Please complete your project review using each of the thinking hats using the link below:
